FIREPLACE CLEANING
A wood-burning stove or fireplace requires careful maintenance.. When wood is burned it creates creosote (a highly flammable by-product of the burning of wood). As the smoke from a fire makes its way up through your chimney and out of your home, creosote deposits on the flue liner and smoke chamber. One spark from a fire, floating up into your chimney, can ignite this creosote and cause a chimney fire.
This danger can be alleviated through the regular sweeping of your chimney. Creosote, in its soft, brushable form, can be removed during a standard cleaning by our trained technicians
A fireplace standard cleaning includes a visual inspection and removal of the flaky creosote deposits from the fireplace system (the chimney flue, smoke chamber and firebox). Special rods, chimney brushes, hand brushes and a vacuum are used. Call for more details and to schedule an appointment or click here to list your availability for an appointment.
MECHANICAL CHIMNEY CLEANING

It is only after the flaky creosote is removed (during the standard fireplace cleaning) thatglazing can be detected. Glazing develops when flaky creosote becomes baked on and requires the use of specialized equipment for it’s removal. Creosote is flammable and the risk of a chimney fire is present. If this creosote is ignited, the intensity of the heat can crack the tile liner and flames pose a fire hazard to the home.
WOOD-BURNING STOVE CLEANING
Wood-burning stove standard cleaning includes a visual inspection and the sweeping of the pipes leading from the stove thru the roof.
FURNACE FLUE CLEANING
Your furnace, water-heater and boiler expel gases that build up deposits on the inside of your chimney flue. These deposits need to be swept out along with any other debris that may have accumulated. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) say that all flues should be inspected annually and cleaned when needed to ensure that the flue is intact and venting properly.
Furnace flue standard cleaning includes the brushing of the water heater and the furnace flue pipes and a visual inspection. The certified chimney technician checks the condition of the flue pipes for softening and deterioration as well as for the presence of nesting, or other debris. He takes the pipes apart, runs the special brushes through, and when finished, he puts the furnace and water heater pipes back into their original position.
BLOCKAGE REMOVAL
Blockage removal from the fireplace or furnace flue is most often associated with the lack of a protective chimney cover on the top of the chimney. Early Times Home Solutions recommends the installation of protective chimney covers on all flue openings to prevent entry of animals (raccoons, squirrels, birds,) twigs, leaves and nesting materials.
DRYER VENT CLEANING
Are your clothes taking too long to dry? Lint and additional debris can build up in your clothes dryer vent and may cause your dryer to exhaust at less than optimum efficiency. This creates a potentially hazardous condition for an exhaust fire. If a gas clothes dryer is improperly vented, or the exhaust duct itself is blocked by lint or debris, carbon monoxide can be forced back into your living space, and create a lethal situation.

Dryer exhaust vent cleaning may reduce the drying time for your clothes. The equipment used by Early Times Chimney Sweeps service technicians removes the build-up of lint and other debris from the dryer exhaust.
